Inferno & Intrigue by Jeremy Dwyer
In the world of magical oceans that give great powers to those who drink of their waters, multiple new dangers have arisen.

In the sky above, the many suns have now aligned and brought a dangerous heat wave known as the "inferno", causing a burning sickness and death. Yet, warmth and light are still needed for life, so the afflicted cannot rest for long in the shade.

At sea, the bloodthirsty pirate, Captain Keallach, is once again searching for lost treasures. He has help from an evil entity in the spirit world, who exacts the ultimate price for assistance. Despite trading his very soul for the riches, the pirate must give over the most precious of the new gems to a mysterious woman with violet eyes.

On land, the wealthy philanthropist, Sebastian, uses his magical powers of emotional manipulation to win the trust and affection of those around him. His generosity and compassion lead him to seek a cure for the sickness brought on by the suns, but he wants the world to love him even more when he finds it.

Under the cover of a magical darkness, there are spies and honor-bound warriors, serving different kingdoms and causes. Unseen by most, they plot their intrigues and interventions, vying for control of the wealth and ways of the world.

The ancient historian, Judith, is still bound by the Chronicler's Oath that forbids interference with world events, even for a benevolent cause. She can only write the unsettling stories of the death and difficulty that surround her, and try to endure the despair and fear that grow within her.
