Dagger & Deception by Jeremy Dwyer
In the world of magical oceans and burning suns, the waters give powers over spirit and flesh, light and darkness, sun and crystal, and various other elements and forces. Those who drink these waters can change the world, if the potion of water is pure enough, and the person has enough innate potential to use the magic to its fullest.

The waters of spirit have given a bloodthirsty witch access to a cursed ruby dagger that turns the living into the undead whom she can command. Those same waters have enabled a warlord to possess the bodies of many of the world's finest warriors, and live for millennia.

The waters of light have enabled a disfigured heiress to create illusions so as to deceive investors and steal their vast wealth.

The waters of the mind have given a wealthy philanthropist telepathic and empathic powers, so as to learn people's secrets and make them love him if he can't buy their affection with his riches.

The waters of song have given a curious young woman the most enchanting voice with the ability to use songs to reveal hidden truths, even terrible ones far beyond her imagining.

Aside from these individuals, entire empires and bands of mercenaries across several continents move in pursuit of a new danger that can devastate the world. They search for a cruel, yet persuasive woman with violet eyes, who holds a mystical item which can command all the oceans, and give deadly force to her plan to revive a savage culture from eons past.

The ancient historian, Judith, is witness to many events, some in secret, and has taken an oath to record the truth of this hidden knowledge to instruct future generations. She may never interfere or betray a confidence, even if she has foreknowledge to avert a disaster. Yet, she is allowed to share certain things, when working against the highest forces of evil and their lies.
