The Sailor's Song by Daria Vernon
"He tasted like the veins of freshwater that ran through Samson's inland. He tasted like the pulsing glow of Samson's Heart... He tasted like something she could taste forever."

ERSA possesses a voice that's lured countless sailors to their doom in Samson Sea. She approaches her next meal—a wayward sailor in a dinghy—with the same confidence she's always had. But the man in the boat wields a surprising weapon—the only one that could possibly weaken her. And the power he holds sparks desires in her far greater than hunger.

SETH MORAY has been put to sea by his fellow pirates as bait for the fabled morgens who inhabit the waters ahead. Thankfully, he doesn't believe in such superstitious lore, at least, until he has no choice. He's certain of his end as he stares down the fangs of a gruesome siren, yet those fangs never meet with his neck. And now he must sing for his life in a battle of seductive song.

THE SAILOR'S SONG is a 22,000 word novelette/novella short read. It's a sensual, slow burn, dark fairytale fantasy romance that features on-the-page intimacy between a pirate and a (sometimes gruesomely hungry) mermaid. The intimacy includes breath-play, and the story has some darker elements—abstract carnage, drowning/near drowning, monstrous transformation, an apex predator of a heroine—but concludes with an HEA.
