Oliver Twist is an all-time coming-to-age story, released in 1838. "Oliver Twist" is a novel by Charles Dickens, first published in 1838. It is the story of a young orphan boy named Oliver who endures a miserable existence in a workhouse and then escapes to London, where he falls in with a group of juvenile pickpockets. Despite his misfortune, Oliver retains his innate goodness and eventually attracts the attention of some wealthy benefactors, who seek to save him from a life of crime and squalor.
