Never Forget (Haunted #15)

Never forget that there are things in the first push of a thunderstorm that are dangerous to you: hail, plow winds, and Wanderers. These spirits cross the plains with the weather fronts. They are looking to feed off of the energy of creatures, living and dead, who have been foolhardy enough to be caught outside in the rain.

The driving rain of Illinois can stop a lot of things too. This time, it’s a semi-trailer truck carrying a pair of African elephants who become lost and can’t forget that they have been hurt. They are haunted by memories, and in Bilbo’s case, the ghost of his former maniacal trainer. Mia joins them, and soon she is guiding them to a place where the elephants will be safe, knowing she will have to face an old foe there first.
